About the Event
Welcome to The California Charity Golf Tour! We're on a mission to swing through the best, public and private golf courses each month in the great, golden state of California with varities of tournaments to support small businesses, while raising awareness and contributions for trusted charities.
For this four man scramble tournament, we have chosen to support an amazing and local nonprofit, the Huntington's Disease Care Center at the University of California Irvine. Please take a moment to learn more about HDC's organization and how they're significantly advancing Huntington's Disease research and clinical care at hdcare.org/hd-clinic. A generous portion of our proceeds will be donated to HDC directly.
Huntington’s Disease (HD) is a genetic, neurodegenerative brain disorder for which there is currently no treatment or cure. HD is progressive and causes deterioration in a person’s physical, mental and emotional abilities, usually during the prime of their life. Symptoms of HD are like having MS, ALS, and Parkinson's Disease all at once. Most people start developing symptoms during adulthood between the ages of 30 to 50, but HD can also occur in children and young adults, known as juvenile HD. HD is a family disease and every child of a parent with HD has a 50/50 chance of inheriting the faulty gene. Today, there are approximately 41,000 symptomatic Americans and more than 200,000 at-risk of inheriting the fatal disease.
We are also very pleased and excited to announce that BMW's Performance Center is partnered with us on this tournament and will be donating surprize packages to the winning team! The BMW Performance Center West is a dedicated, performance driver training facility located in Thermal, CA, near Palm Springs. The facility is open to the public and offers a wide range of driving schools for people of all ages and capabilities. The facility also offers special programs for private and corporate groups.
